À propos de l'événement
" A route is an artistic statement on the side of a mountain...”
(Doug Robinson: A Night on the Ground, A Day in the Open)
With the use of artwork, using various graphic media, the exhibition tells a story of a relationship with mountains in the Paleochera area. James and Krista Skone, while pioneering around 4000m of scrambles and rock climbs, sensitively and empathically interacted with nature. No detailed route descriptions have been published, nor were traces left while on their routes. As if entering a room for the first time, they were intrigued and interconnected with it, but after passing through, they closed the door behind them without any impact on the surroundings. The concept of this particular route finding is to offer an alternative perception to classic mountaineering – an exploration and visualisation as a form of land art which is beyond the usual and accepted realms normally associated with this activity. The rationale is that mountains should remain mysterious for future generations ," to find their own way “.
